Oh great today's a half day! I seriously didn't know about the half day, I mean in the damned land of green, mud and soil, no one should ever be over-optimistic, and it did pay me well together, yay! It's a half day! Before I delve into other stuff, let me wish all my friends and happy readers a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Now I have only about a few hours to look back before it turns 2004. Looking back at 2003, the year has been rather exciting and tiring at the same time. New friendships have been forged, new battles have been fought, and new hopes have been revived. Thinking in retrospective, I didn't believe at first I could have completed Year 2003 just like this, maybe I have learned and continue to grow stronger, and yes even more headstrong as ever. After several failures along the way this year, I thought that I should have been more optimistic about stuff, and not dwell in the past where everything just came as I wished.

That apart, LIGHTYEARS is back again! Wow, the cast has expanded, haha, and there's more reason to watch LIGHTYEARS. Did I hear it wrongly that the polytechnic they are attending is VICTORIA POLYTECHNIC? what? ... ... Anyway Tuesdays are quite a 'watcher' because there's PCK at 8, O Carol at 830 and Light Years at 9. I kinda like Vernetta Lopez coz she sounds cool when she speaks fast and funny when she starts speaking in a flustered matter when things go awry.

Anyway, what's the connection between "Being silent" and "Acting Cool"? What's the relation that (I think) some people are confused about? Just today, when I was travellling back in the MRT with my friend, I was thinking about stuff so I didn't talk to him, and he said I was "Acting Cool". Firstly, I would like to say that I have never attempted to do that, I think it's dumb and stupid. Secondly, it's the popular culture, and the dramas that have imbued in these people that silence is equivalent to acting cool. Thirdly, it is the shuai ges in the shows that have the prerequisites to do so. If you're one average bloke, don't try, you appear dull and sullen. Fourly, ok fine, lambast me if you like, still keeping silent doesn't equal to being cool.

Er, and did I mention that my friend confused the two and attempted to 'act cool' when he was still studying? He said whenever girls boarded the bus, he would turn away, and remained silent. Ok, on a bus, if you're an average bloke, no one will notice you. Unless you wish to be noticed, either be very 1.good-looking, 2.splattered with a huge mole, the size of a 5 cm diameter coin on your face or 3.dressed outlandishly, or 4.be an celebrity look alike.

What a warped way of thinking...

I simply love the DISCOVER magazine. I just received it, must be a super cool edition. 100 Top Science Stories of 2003. Ok.. going off to read it now.

Once again wishing all friends, accomplices, readers and all, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!
